Overview
Fourteen of us, five ecosystems, and a single thread that runs from the geothermal gorges of the Rift Valley to the Indian Ocean at Watamu. This is less a tour than a way of travelling — slow mornings in the field, real exchanges with the people and researchers keeping these places wild, and evenings that end around a fire or a waterhole. We have built room into every day. Some mornings begin before first light; some afternoons hold nothing at all. When the plan and the animals disagree, we follow the animals.
