Xpdtion Dudhwa
Overview
Dudhwa is a vast Terai landscape of woodland, wetland and grassland along the Nepal border. This Xpdtion explores its tigers, one-horned rhinos, Asiatic elephants, leopards, sloth bears and barasingha through safaris, forest walks, community experiences and conservation-focused sessions. The experience is based at a working environmental science camp on the edge of Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary rather than a conventional resort.

Xpdtion Schedule
Day 1 | The Terai: Arrival to the Grasslands
Drive from Lucknow through farmland and sugarcane fields to the camp near Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary. Settle in over a farm-fresh meal, followed by an evening forest-edge walk to learn about animal calls and tracks. End the day with a welcome activity and orientation to the Terai.
Day 2 | The Tiger: History, Comeback and Future
Early-morning safari in Kishanpur, followed by a session on Dudhwa's tiger conservation story. Head out again in the evening for a second safari around Jhaadi Tal to look for barasingha.
Day 3 | Coexistence: The Shared Ground
Visit a Tharu village and walk through the forest with members of the community. Learn how local people have lived alongside the wilderness for generations. Continue to the India-Nepal border and explore a quieter part of the jungle before returning to camp.
Day 4 | The Forest: Into Dudhwa
Two safaris across Dudhwa National Park and Sonaripur. Look for rhinos, elephants and tigers around Banke Tal and Sonaripur. Visit the nature interpretation centre, then return to camp for stories and a Terai night sky.
Day 5 | Beyond: One Last Morning
Take one final early-morning safari in Kishanpur. Return for breakfast and a closing circle with the group before beginning the drive back to Lucknow.
